Chapter Philanthropy and Service

"...to think in terms of all mankind and our service in the world;..."

In addition to participating in our national philanthropy, each Zeta Tau Alpha collegiate and alumnae chapter finds its own niche in the community with service projects that produce long-lasting benefits.

Annually, the Tampa Alumnae participate in the National Think Pink!® campaign by passing out Think Pink!® ribbons at the designated Tampa Bay Buccaneers game ("A Crucial Catch" campaign). Our chapter also supports the local American Cancer Society® at their annual Making Strides walks in October in both Wesley Chapel and Tampa Bay, with a focus on survivor recognition.

This year, the Tampa Alumnae Chapter has participated and will continue to participate in collection drives for Toys for Tots, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Dress for Success Tampa Bay, The Spring of Tampa Bay and the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.

In addition to our already planned participation, our chapter has recently adopted The Humane Society of Tampa Bay as our official Chapter Philanthropy.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay is a limited admission shelter. They are a “No Kill for Space” shelter. That means the shelter will not euthanize an animal to make space for another animal.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay does its best to find homes for as many animals as possible. They are committed to a community approach to help lower the euthanasia in Hillsborough County. They have an aggressive transfer program which takes in animals from other shelters that are open admission and house animals that are at risk of being euthanized.
